Human trafficking and modern slavery remain among the most serious human rights challenges of the twenty-first century, affecting millions of people worldwide through forced labour, sexual exploitation, forced marriage, domestic servitude, and other forms of abuse. Despite the existence of international legal frameworks, these crimes continue to evolve due to factors such as poverty, conflict, displacement, organized crime, and technological advancements. As the primary United Nations body responsible for promoting and protecting human rights, the UNHRC plays a vital role in strengthening international cooperation, protecting victims, and enhancing accountability. This committee invites delegates to develop comprehensive, rights-based solutions that address both the root causes and the evolving nature of human trafficking and modern slavery.
